SMPS Morning Show: "Proposal Tips from the Owner's side" | January 25th
Presented by: Sheree Thomas, SB Thomas & Associates

Have you ever wondered what happens to your proposal after you’ve submitted it to a government agency?  How did they score all of your hard work? Or, did they even read your proposal at all? 

If only you had some inside information on how your proposal is evaluated, maybe it could make the difference in receiving the award.  This seminar, “Insider Information:  How Your Proposal is Evaluated” will provide a behind the scenes look into the proposal evaluation process.  Sheree Thomas and LaTammie Bivins, Esq., have more than 30 years of combined experience in government procurement and have participated on countless proposal evaluation committees over the years.  During this seminar, they will review basic procurement principles for professional service contracts, discuss the role of the evaluation committee and the proposal evaluation process, provide sample evaluation worksheets and scoring criteria, and describe how they have evaluated proposals in the past.  The goal of this seminar is to provide you with some Insider Information to help increase your chances of success.    

    
About the Speakers: Sheree Thomas is founder of SB Thomas & Associates, Inc., a certified woman-owned construction management and government contracting consulting company.  She has over 17+ years of government contracting and project management experience.  This experience includes past employment in Contract Administration with the Department of Navy, Contract Negotiator at Bechtel Plant Machinery and as an independent consultant working with various public housing agencies, including the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh.

LaTammie D. Bivins, Esquire is founder of Branderic Consulting and also holds the position of Associate Counsel with the Allegheny County Office of Conflict Counsel where she is a juvenile defender.  She founded Branderic Consulting in 2008 to provide technical assistance and legal counsel in government contracting to both public agencies and contractors.   Her previous employment includes a small law firm that focused a portion of its practice on public sector work, specifically providing legal counsel to large housing authorities and as Special Assistant to the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh, which later resulted in her accepting the position of Contracting Officer at the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh.
