ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for direct sales activity including increasing existing sales and identifying and developing new business opportunities. This is a true Outside Selling Sales position, with the opportunity to sell directly to the Building and Construction Project space client base, such as;  Architects, Specifiers, General Contractors, Government officials, Building owners, MEP contractors, and related Building Consultants.   The primary market focus is the Commercial Infrastructure, Commercial Building projects and Residential projects space.

  • Working with Operations and Sales Manager to define and develop territory to increase new and existing sales.
  • Spend a minimum of 50% outside interface with new and existing identified target clients.  In other words, proactive client meetings within the territory assigned.
  • Identify potential new clients via research and networking. Project “lead” sharing groups.
  • Understand and consistently use “Dodge reports” for selective prospecting.
  • Belong to industry groups such as CMPS, ACEC and NOA, participate as active member
  • Work with internal groups to grow key existing client accounts (NCG)
  • Create and facilitate client presentations.
  • Cross selling of full suite of Building and Construction services.
  • Prepare sales reports and forecasts and write and follow up on proposals.
  • Create, participate and manager “lunch and learns” for industry groups.
  • Monitor and drive proposal volume and orders incoming using tools like Power BI and iConnect.
  • Assist in generation, delivery and winning of Proposals larger than $50K.
  • Perform other work as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Sales Professional with direct sales experience in the “Project” space as described above.
  • Have a proven track record of territory growth and individual account growth.
  • Business to business sales experience is preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated and assertive and have the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel more than 50% of the time.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and superior presentation skills.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience working with diverse teams (engineering, operations, marketing).
  • Working knowledge of personal computers & MS Office software and prior experience with Sales CRM.
  • Post-secondary education is required, with specific education in the construction space as a plus.

High school diploma or GED is required.
